Privacy at Scorsync
This page summarises what Scorsync collects, why, and how to change your mind, in plain language. The full privacy policy is the binding document and governs wherever the two differ.
Competition results are public
Scorsync exists to publish gymnastics results, so scores, placements, athlete names, club affiliations and competition history are published and readable by anyone — that is the point of the service, not a setting that was left switched on. If an athlete competes at a meet published on Scorsync, their results appear on the site.
Athlete video footage
Scorsync records and links video of athletes' routines during competitions, associated with the athlete's name, so routines can be reviewed and shared. Athletes and their parents or guardians can opt out of recording, or ask for footage already published to be removed, by emailing support@scorsync.com. Reasonable removal requests are honoured — you do not need to give a reason, and there is no form.
What Scorsync collects about you
- Contact information — name, email address and phone number, when you create an account or write to support.
- Usage information — which pages you visit, what you search for and the preferences you set.
- Device information — IP address, browser type and operating system.
Reading published results requires none of this: no account is needed to browse a meet, an athlete, a club or the rankings.
Cookies
Non-essential cookies are only set after you consent, and your choice is remembered for six
months in a cc_cookie cookie. The essential ones —
scorsync_session and XSRF-TOKEN — keep you signed in and protect
against cross-site request forgery; both are secure and cleared when your session ends.
theme_preference remembers light or dark mode. Beyond those, Scorsync uses Google
Analytics to understand how the site is used and Stripe cookies to process payments and detect
fraud. Full details, including how long each cookie lasts, are in the
privacy policy.
Who your data is shared with
Service providers who run parts of Scorsync on our behalf — hosting and payment processing — and affiliates, for the purposes described in the policy. Third parties are contractually required to process personal data only on Scorsync's instructions and never for their own purposes. Data may also be disclosed where the law requires it, or transferred as part of a merger or acquisition. Scorsync does not sell personal data.
Where your data is processed
In the United States. If you are outside the US, providing information to Scorsync means it is transferred to and processed in the US, where data protection law may differ from your own.
Children
Gymnastics is a youth sport and many athletes on Scorsync are minors. Personal information is not collected from anyone under 13 without parental consent, and a parent or guardian can exercise every right on this page on their child's behalf — including video removal.
Marketing
Marketing email is opt-in and every message carries an unsubscribe link. Opting out of marketing never stops service messages: score notifications you asked for, receipts and legal notices keep arriving.
Your rights and how to use them
You can ask to see the personal data Scorsync holds about you, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict how it is processed, or receive a portable copy. Email support@scorsync.com from the address on your account and say what you want; there is no form and no fee. Accounts can also be deleted from within the app. Note that deleting an account does not retract published competition results, which are part of the public record of a meet — video removal is handled separately, as described above.
